Our Story & Mission - APR Energy
A track record you can trust
In 1987, John Campion – a former roadie – started Show Power to provide modular, temporary power to legendary performers like the Rolling Stones. General Electric Co. later acquired Show Power, and John was brought on to help develop GE’s fast-power business, including the technical development of the mobile gas turbine (the GE TM 2500). In 2004, he founded APR Energy to deliver temporary and emergency power around the world.
Legacy of Innovation
Over the past 20+ years, APR Energy has continued John’s legacy of innovation, scaling with the needs of our customers and becoming the most recognized and respected fast-track power provider in the industry.
Global Reach
With projects spanning 35+ countries, APR has successfully delivered 50 TWh+ total energy of reliable power generation.
At APR Energy, it’s our mission to continue providing the most trusted turnkey power solutions for mission-critical projects – from behind-the-meter and mobile power for data centers to emergency and fast-track power.

Welcome to APR Energy!
Founded in 2004, APR Energy has built a strong legacy of delivering specialized, turnkey power solutions for mission-critical projects. From our very first large-scale mobile power deployment to the Ceylon Electricity Board in Sri Lanka, we’ve been dedicated to providing fast, reliable energy where and when it matters most.
Over the years, APR Energy has successfully managed and executed power projects in more than 35 countries, demonstrating our unique capability to rapidly address urgent power demands. Notably, in 2011, APR swiftly provided 203MW of emergency power to Japan in response to the devastating 9.0-magnitude earthquake. In 2017, we simultaneously deployed five power plants across Australia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico within weeks, reinforcing essential services during critical power shortages following
natural disasters.
At the close of 2024, Fortress Investment Group acquired APR Energy’s assets, including our fleet of 30 mobile gas-powered turbines, totaling 850 megawatts of generation capacity. Today, APR Energy continues to innovate and expand its offerings, including turnkey power solutions tailored specifically for data centers and AI hyperscalers. We provide behind-the-meter power solutions designed to meet the rapidly growing
demands of data infrastructure, supporting the expansion of AI and digital technology.
Our dedicated team and culture of integrity, collaboration, and agility drive our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. We deeply value the trust and support of our customers, partners, and stakeholders as we power the future together.
Thank you for visiting APR Energy—we look forward to the opportunity to meet your energy needs.
